About this Episode

Dilexit Nos in a Year - Session 7 - Chapter 1 Paragraphs 20-23
Pope Francis closes this section of the heart uniting the fragments, by recognizing the profound core of our being in the purpose for which we were 'made to love and to be loved'. In offering the antithesis to artificial intelligence, Pope Francis sees the heart as the authentic core of understanding for life's large and small moments. He offers the example of weeping elderly women, who have lived lives of dignity that now weep at the uselessness of war and tragedy. Finally he asks us to ask ourselves if we have hearts.

Each session of Dilexit Nos in a Year begins by breaking open the scriptures and topics covered in order to outline the themes of Pope Francis, and frame our conversations for the weekly discussion for the year ahead. For the next 50 weeks, we will work through four to five paragraphs reading of the text of Dilexit Nos, with opening prayer, and short reflection based upon the paragraphs covered and the prayerful discussions of the questions to ponder together as we reflect on the work of spiritual and communal formation and mission in this Jubilee Year of Hope.
